There’s No Winner in This One
October 26th, 2009 Posted in Phillies Hating, Phillies Suck, Yankees Hating, Yankees SuckI’m talking about the 2009 World Series of course. Sure, literally there’ll be a winner, but for myself and most Mets fans, there isn’t.
Either way we’re screwed.
If the Yankees win, we’ll hear about it day in and day out. Luckily I won’t have the New York papers reminding me of it daily, but we’ll hear about it in at least the six games we play the Yankees in 2010.
Now, the Phillies winning is no better. It’ll be two in a row for them. We play them around 12 times in 2010 and we’ll surely hear about it each broadcast. Throw in the Mets/Pedro storyline, and it’s no better.
Both teams have fan bases that are full of jerks. But in the end, I’ve disliked the Yankees far longer than I have hated the Phillies. While I am not rooting for one team more than the other, there could be a bittersweet moment to know that Yankees shelled out so much money for certain players, only to lose in the World Series.
At least there’s hockey and football to serve as my distractions. Let’s see what the off-season brings us…
