My First Cubs Game From a Rooftop
July 5th, 2009 Posted in UncategorizedSince living in Chicago I’ve always wanted to see a Cubs game from one of the many rooftops that surround Wrigley Field. However, I’ve never wanted to spend at least $150 to do it. Luckily, I stumbled upon a great deal from Groupon.com: $89 a ticket for the Skybox on Sheffield! They had a few dates to choose from, and after running the idea by Nik we decided to buy tickets for today, the 5th, against the Brewers.
It was a great time, but I probably would have enjoyed drank more if I hadn’t been up until at least 1am the night before for our 4th of July bbq. The rooftop deal includes all you can eat (choice of burgers, hot dogs, sausages, Italian beef sandwiches, various finger foods and even dessert was served) and drink from an hour before the game through the game. We got there pretty early and were able to grab prime seats under the overhang so we were shaded from the sun. (There was still another level above us that had stadium-like seating.) Our friends Myra, Beth, Nancy and Katie joined us as well.
The game itself was pretty good. The Cubs pretty much spanked the Brewers. It’s been awhile since seeing a major offensive attack like that. Hopefully the Mets can learn a thing or two and remember how to hit and score runs.

Every Cubs fan should be able to see a game from the rooftops. It’s just another experience that makes Wrigley the unique park that it is.

Well, clearly by the name of my site, I am not a Cubs fan. But it was a fun experience, despite the fact that I didn’t care who won the game. Thanks for stopping by…!
