And Silver Too!

A few days after winning Gold Glove Awards, my baseball boyfriend David Wright and his teammate Carlos Beltran earned Silver Sluggers as announced Friday afternoon by Louisville Slugger. The award winners are chosen by Major League coaches and managers, who voted for the players they felt were the best offensive producers at each position.

Beltran is one of four NL players honored for the second straight year. Wright became a first-time honoree after producing a 30-30 season, the fourth in club history.

And just another reason to hate the Braves, a bitter Chipper Jones: “When I find out [Wright won] I was speechless, for quite some time,” Chipper said. “Certainly the guys with the least amount of errors and best fielding percentage quite obviously didn’t win it.”
